Hi-Tek Heat Set Supercoat in a powdered format. Same product as the liquid version but in an easy to use powder.
Hi-Tek powder is built with the latest generation resins and has the 2-extreme catalyst built in. To use, simply measure out the appropriate amount of powder and add Acetone or M.E.K. (15 ounces of powder makes up to 71 fluid ounces (2.2 quarts) of bullet coating).
Complete instructions are included.
I used whatever tool fits the job most efficiently… I have powder coated and I have used high-tek coating with great success. Sure it’s a multi step process, but if you add up all the time it takes to cast a perfect projectile this is just part of the process to having an amazing bullet. I use this product just for my competition ammo. I shoot a CZ shadow 2orange. I cast a 150 grain flat point that has a very fat profile. I can only seat the bullet so deep and then it jams into the rifling in the throat of the barrel. Traditional powder, coating builds up too much of thickness and only create more problems than it solves. This coating …even at four coats. Doesn’t really add any thickness to the bullet and protects the rifling from leading perfectly. Very low smoke signature and is definitely more accurate than powder coating & I will continue to use this product as long as is available. My go to colors with favorite being the first is zombie green. Then candy apple red and I am recently now trying the aqua blue. It’s a shame they don’t allow you in these reviews to post pictures of the projectiles we have coated because they are truly works of art. Gene on Nov 4th 2025
Our go to coating

Awesome product! Zero leading if you follow the instructions. There’s a learning curve just like with everything else, but once you get it down it’s a joy to work with. I do 4 coats for rifle bullets and according to my calculations a 15oz container will cover over 500 lbs of bullets. And that’s a lot of shooting! Cheers! Alex on Jul 11th 2025
The discovery of Hi-Tek bullet coating technology opened up a new world of versatility and quality for my bullets. Fast with uncomplicated equipment. No sticking, perfect surfaces, and a pleasure at the range: Accurate, grease-free, and smoke-free.

I'm always looking for ways to reduce the effort to feed my shooting habit while keeping the financial impact to a minimum. Sourcing lead from the berms and brass from the shooting line are great, but preventing leading has always been a hassle. The Hi-Tek heat set powders have been an excellent experience.
Every single batch has resulted in consistent quality and zero failures when subjecting samples to the "smash test". When creating a bottle of coating, I measure out the acetone and powder carefully, but apply to the bullets with little precision... very forgiving.
I've been using my first container of the heat set supercoat powder for the past five years. The last batch mixed and baked as well as the first. I'm tired of the black cherry color and will try another color to finish out the decade. I think that the 7oz container coated 6 to 7 thousand rounds of 9mm and 300 BO (220gr), which works out to about 0.5 cent per round.
The ease of application and baking, along with the low cost has made this my go-to bullet coating solution for the foreseeable future. Michael Kreutz on Apr 7th 2025
This is the best bullet coating powder there is. You can go cheaper from other brands, but the application of hi-tek is such a simple process and so straight forward and clean.
Follow the instructions and you will have perfect and consistent coating every time. Mix with acetone, tumble for 15sec, bake 8-10min and be done! Repeat if necessary.

I started with one color, tried it out. I was impressed, then ordered three more. It is easy to switch when batching, so color coding the types/masses is great. I'm still working on the optimal cook times, but the results are fantastic. I recommend these coatings. JMS on Apr 2nd 2024
